Huynh Van Tung Appointed Chief Representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Southern Office

Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan has signed Decision No. 2850/QĐ-BKHCN, dated June 19, 2026, regarding the transfer and fixed-term appointment of Mr. Huynh Van Tung to the position of Chief Representative of the Ministry’s Southern Office. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Tung served as the Director of the Center for Service Development and Science and Technology Infrastructure Exploitation.

With his extensive background in science and technology management, Mr. Huynh Van Tung is highly trusted to drive innovative breakthroughs in the governance and operations of the Southern Office during its new phase of development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Van Tung expressed his honors at being entrusted with the new responsibility and conveyed his sincere thanks to the Ministry’s leadership and the Office of the Ministry. He affirmed his commitment to upholding a strong sense of responsibility, promoting unity, and making every effort to successfully fulfil the assigned tasks.

In his new position, Mr. Huynh Van Tung will focus on promoting the role of the Southern Office as a strategic bridge, strengthening coordination between the Ministry and local authorities, research institutes, universities, and enterprises in the region.

The Southern Office will continue to actively advise the Ministry’s leadership, promptly address difficulties and institutional obstacles, and contribute to building a favorable environment for the development of science, technology, and innovation, thereby supporting socio-economic development in the southern region.
