Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality visited and had a meeting with National Office in Southern Region on implementing new phase of the protocol on “Technology Exchange”

On May 12^th 2016, National Office in Southern Region – MOST (SROMOST) had a meeting with Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. 

Attended the meeting, there were Mr. Pham Xuan Da, Director General of National Office in Southern Region – MOST; Mr. VuongDuc Tuan, Deputy Director of National Office in Southern Region; Mr.ShouZiqi, Chairman of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality; Mr. Zhu Zhenghong, Director of Center Technology Innovation, Shanghai Municipality along with the leaders and representatives of departments of SRMOST.

During the meeting,together, two sides exchanged, discussed about the project "Research collaboration with Shanghai Technology Exchange to build a Technology Exchange in Ho Chi Minh City." Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Xuan Da highly appreciated the results, which were achieved in Phase 1 of the process of cooperation, are the basis for Phase 2 deployment with a faster speed and more specificresults. To implement phase 2, the preparatory work in Vietnam has completed some important items such as the basic construction of the buildingfor Technology Exchange, the legal basis for the operation of Technology Exchange has gradually been finalized. Technology Exchange in southern region is expected to be official add to the 5 years action plan (from 2016 - 2020) will be officially put into operation 5 year program (period 2016-2020) of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Besides the deployment of Technology Exchange, Vietnam also wants Chinese partner to share the experience of cooperation to develop science and technology which is related to the issues such as entrepreneurship, transfer, technology innovation.

The Leader ofScience and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality said that Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh has many similarities in geography, as well as the characteristics of economic and social development. The signing of the cooperation agreement between National Office in Southern Region and Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality will have a certain contribution to the development of science and technology of both sides. Shanghai Municipality is willing to commit to exchange, share experiences on activities of technology transfer and exchange, facilitate the exchange of experts and help Vietnam in implementing the project in the near future.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides together to discuss topics such as the exchange of training; share experiences on the creation and development of theservices system for science and technology; resource of scientific and technological information around the world from the Shanghai....

Finalized the meeting, Mr. Pham Xuan Da was thanked to the Delegate of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipalityfor visitingand working with the SROMOST. He also hope that the cooperation between the two parties will gain much best success.
