Vice Minister Tran Viet Thanh had a meeting with the National Office in Southern Region

On 03/25/2014, Mr Vice Minister Tran Viet Thanh had a meeting with the National Office in Southern Region.

The leaders of the National Office in Southern Region (SROMOST) has reported about the activities of the agency related to the tasks of state management, information on science & technology and coordination with various departments and agencies within the Ministry after being established for one year (Based on reorganizing Southern Office of Ministry of Science and Technology under the Decision number 874/QD-BKHCN) has been improved and is clearly shown in the assigned tasks. Although there were a lot of difficulties concerned to lacking of man power; budget; facilities, with the concern and guidance of the Ministry's leaders as well as collaboration with other units of the Ministry, leaders and all state officials and employees of SROMOST have overcome difficulties and strived to fulfill the tasks of the agency related to state management, implementation of science and technology, international cooperation and other activities in the last year.

After listening to the report, Vice Minister encouraged all the civil servants and employees of the Agency for the high responsibly working spirit and also gave some directives to request the Agency for dramatically implementation in the future. At the present, the southern region is a area which has the dynamic socioeconomic components, contributed more than 60% of the country's GDP. Therefore, the Agency needs to focus more on the task of state management, advisory and promptly report about the science and technology activities in the southern region, review information and statistics about the national programs of science and technology which are being deployed in the south.

By the way, in the meeting, Vice Minister has given the decisions to appoint civil servants and employees for the Comrades at leader level: Mr Bui Gia Hiep - Head of Department of Science and Technology Management; Mr Le Mong Lam - Deputy Head of Department of International Cooperation and Information Science and Technology; Mr Luu Tien Dung - Deputy Director of Center for Application and Science Technology Services. Expressing at the meeting, Comrade Director Vu Van Khiem congratulated the Comrades who were appointed to their positions as leader level of Division and remind the appointed Comrades that the great responsibilities come with trusts and expectations. The Director hopes that the appointed Comrades will actively promote competence, initiative and creativity in their work and collaborate well in performing their tasks and contribute to fulfill the tasks of the Agency in the future.
